If you’re a mama like me, you know that when your little one gets sick, everything feels harder. My son is almost two now, and he’s been sick plenty of times — especially as the seasons change. Over the past couple of years, I’ve figured out what really makes sick days smoother for both of us.
Since we’re heading into fall (prime coughs + colds season), I wanted to share the baby sick day must-haves that I keep stocked at home. All of these are linked on Amazon so you can add them right to your cart. (Note: they’re affiliate links, which means I’ll get a tiny kickback if you purchase through them — at no extra cost to you. Thank you for supporting! π)
Zarbee’s Under 2 — This is a nice, soothing mixture for their little throats. Totally safe for under two, and it’s what I use most often.
Zarbee’s Over 2 — I keep this in my cupboard as a backup now that my son is almost two. Haven’t had to use it yet, but I like knowing it’s there.
π Zarbee’s makes a whole line of products, but cough syrup is the one I reach for most.
Boogie Bath Bombs — My go-to if I can’t get Frida Baby bath bombs (they’re often hard to find in Canada). The bonus? These are three times bigger than the Frida ones.
Frida Baby Kit — I use a ton of Frida products, and this kit basically bundles them all together.
My absolute favorites are:
Boogie Wipes — they’re vaporized, so they help open up his nose while soothing it (instead of rubbing raw with Kleenex).
Essential Oils — amazing for the humidifier when he’s congested.
Note: Frida products can be tough to find in Canada, so this kit is a lifesaver.
Nose Frida — The snot-sucker that actually works. We also have a hospital-grade aspirator from when he was in care, but the Nose Frida is perfect for everyday use.
Hydrasense Saline Spray — Gentle and effective for clearing little noses.
Nose Wipes — Soft, vapor-infused, and so much kinder than Kleenex.
Humidifier — Always on at night when he’s sick. Helps him breathe easier and sleep better.
Essential Oil Drops — I add a few drops into the humidifier. The gentle vapor helps clear congestion.
I also always keep Tylenol stocked for fevers or discomfort. It’s a medicine-cabinet essential when you’ve got little ones.
We don’t have Amazon Next-Day where I live, so I always keep an extra of each item on hand. That way I’m never stuck without something we need in the middle of a rough night.
Being a stay-at-home mama without childcare or outside support means I have to be prepared for anything — especially when sickness strikes. These items have been my lifeline on countless sick days, and I hope they make your days a little smoother too.
